Pruning can be performed at any time of year, but there are certain considerations to take into account. To determine the best approach, please contact us and we will give you a free estimate. The types of pruning services we provide are:
Clearance Pruning – creating distance between buildings, sidewalks, other plants, etc.

Ornamental Pruning – removing undesirable growth to ensure plant vigor

Unless your tree is imminently hazardous, it can be beneficial to your landscape to choose a time that minimizes the impact on the surrounding area. For example, waiting until late summer or early fall could ensure that the ground is firm and valuable plants in the surrounding area can be protected. However, we do carry a wide range of resources to ensure we can get the job done smoothly, quickly, and safely, regardless of any environmental challenges that may exist during any given time of year.
Yes. Our crews will chip everything that we can, and if requested, we can cut the larger diameter wood into fuel-burning lengths that you will be able to split into firewood later. We do not do the splitting of the rounds.
With “final cleanup,” we will chip, haul and remove all branches and wood from the tree or trees that we service on your property. We will rake and blow the entire work area, including the roof if affected. Please note that clean up will happen unless otherwise specified in the estimate or contract.
If there is any underground equipment near or in the way of access to your tree, please let our estimator know. Every site requires a unique approach, and your information helps us provide the right equipment for the job.
Yes. The height of the stump is determined by the size of the tree removed. Generally speaking, smaller trees under 24″ in diameter may result in a 6″ stump above the soil line; trees between 24 and 36″ in diameter may result in an 8-12″ stump above the soil line; large trees beyond 36″ in diameter will have even taller stumps. Cummings Tree Service will work with you to meet your stump removal needs.
Cummings Tree Service will send your invoice via email upon completion of the project. If requested, a hard copy can be sent via mail. We accept checks or money orders by mail. We do have a credit card option for a 3% fee. If you would like this option, please let us know once you have received your invoice and we can send you the link to pay. Unfortunately, we are unable to take credit cards over the phone at this time.
